ATG Welcomes 2016 Fall Healthcare Advisory Group

ATG recently hosted the semi-annual gathering of healthcare facility management professionals at the company's Chicago-area headquarters. This Healthcare Advisory Group meets regularly to discuss issues and opportunities facing the industry.

The conference included individuals from around the country, representing healthcare systems that include Houston Methodist, LifeBridge Health, Palmetto Health, Rush University Medical Center and Edward-Elmhurst Health.

The Thursday session began with the introduction of Richard Hunt, Executive Vice President at JLL, who explained some of the thinking behind ATG’s recent partnership with JLL and what that means for clients.

JLL’s Healthcare group helps hospitals tap the unrealized potential in real estate to fulfill the mission of providing excellent patient care. Mr. Hunt explained that JLL is committed to excellence, and ATG represents a wonderful opportunity to fulfill that goal. The partnership was attractive because ATG’s experience with healthcare and higher education overlaps with JLL’s interest in these areas; and ATG’s people, technology and overall organization are an ideal fit.

He reiterated that ATG clients will continue to work with the organization as they have in the past, noting that the only change would be the additional depth of services and resources that JLL can offer to these existing relationships.

The early afternoon session featured a broad discussion of Life Safety issues, as well as recent Joint Commission changes to Statement of Conditions, Environment of Care and the rollout of the new SAFER matrix (which stands for survey analysis for evaluating risk).

A timely conversation on Emergency Management followed. As this practice area continues to grow and evolve, hospital administrators are tasked with a range of challenges – they need ways to address risk assessment, resource management, emergency preparedness, space utilization, cyber security and a host of other issues – and in an emergency, they need information in real time. Advisory Group members shared insights and asked questions in an effort to better understand specific concerns, and to help establish a role ATG can play in addressing them.

The day finished with an update on current solution enhancements.

Friday’s meeting began with a session on the ATG Solutions Road Map. After previewing and sharing feedback on new solutions and upcoming improvements for 2017, the group shared advice on how to utilize data to divvy responsibility and accountability across departments. This strategic discussion segued into the afternoon session on strengthening ATG’s connection with the industry by fostering relationships with Healthcare Advisory Group members.
