Advanced Technologies Group, a JLL Company, was pleased to welcome Congressman Peter Roskam to its corporate offices in suburban Chicago on Monday, October 10, 2016.
Representative Roskam is a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, where he sits on the Health Subcommittee and chairs the Oversight Subcommittee – a key post with jurisdiction into the spending and operations of healthcare programs within the federal government.
During his visit the congressman met with ATG executives to learn how the company works with healthcare systems and higher education organizations to revolutionize the way physical space is managed.
The wide-ranging conversation touched on several topics, including:
- How technology can create a more efficient environment of care
- The way progressive healthcare systems have modernized how they comply with regulations to retain accreditation
More importantly, Mike Hakbaz explained the role ATG has in helping hospitals recognize value in standardizing processes within the physical plant; and how, with ATG’s facility information platform, executives can include these critical operational insights in making informed decisions about a hospital’s overall business model.
To conclude the meeting, Congressman Roskam and the ATG leadership team envisioned a time when healthcare systems, Authorities Having Jurisdiction and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will work in partnership to help hospitals provide a safer and smarter physical environment.
Mr. Roskam then met with dozens of employees in a “town hall” meeting where he summarized his visit and took questions. He expressed a common view with ATG on the importance of bringing efficiencies to the non-clinical side of healthcare industry, and that such innovations will inform his thinking as a member of the Ways and Means Committee in Congress.
For nearly 30 years ATG has collaborated with hospitals and universities across the country to provide innovative technologies and high-value services that streamline compliance, enhance operational performance, optimize resources, improve business planning, and deliver significant and visible ROI.
Mr. Roskam’s visit underscores his desire to connect with his constituents, and his commitment to making meaningful improvements to healthcare in the United States.
